How we check every book

Every book is checked with advanced tools before it's printed. Children's books get extra safety checks from start to finish.

Children's books

  1. Before we writeThe story idea is checked. If something isn't right for a children's book, we say so kindly and ask for a change.
  2. While we writeStrict rules: no romance, swearing, drugs, serious violence or politics. Adventure, mystery and spooky bits are welcome.
  3. Before we printEvery finished book is checked with advanced tools before it goes to the printer.
  4. Your photosUsed only to draw a likeness, and deleted once your book is printed, or after 14 days if you don't order.

Grown-up books 18+

  1. You choose how rudeWarm, cheeky or properly naughty. The children's rules don't apply.
  2. Funny, not nastyNothing explicit, nothing hateful, and nothing that accuses a real person of a crime, an affair or an illness.
  3. Before we printEvery finished book is checked with advanced tools, the same as every Storywizard book.
  4. Your photoUsed only to draw the star on the cover and in the pictures, and deleted once your book is printed, or after 14 days if you don't order.
What do the checks look at?

The story and the pictures. For children's books that includes the topics, words and slang in the story idea and the finished text. Every cover is also read back letter by letter to make sure the title, names and synopsis are spelled exactly right.

What happens to photos?

They are used only to draw the person into the pictures. They are deleted once your book is sent to print, or 14 days after a free preview if you don't order.
